ANTIQUE KAZAK CIRCA 1925-1950

Price Upon Request

Kazak is a small city in northwest Azerbaijan.  The Caucasus is an area bounded by the Black and Caspian Sea to the east-west, Russia to the north, and Turkey and Persia to the south.  This rug is hand-knotted by Kazak skilled artisan weavers in the early 20th century.  It has six medallions.  The design inspiration for this rug originated from the entrance wooden door to a villager's dwelling.   This tribal antique rug is made of pure wool and is adorned with decorative elements of geometric field design and borders, making a great floor and hanging decoration.  It features rose salmon centre motifs on a brown background bordered by ivory, orange and green natural dyes.  Overall very good condition.  Even pile and natural wear throughout.  The bindings are original, and the fringes are complete and intact.  This decorative aesthetic rug appeals to both connoisseurs and interior designers.
